Harvard Study: 73 Percent of DACA Illegal Aliens Live in Low-Income Households

|| Breitbart

Research found that nearly the same amount of DACA recipients who earned a four-year degree from a university, 22 percent, ended up dropping out of high school, 21 percent, leaving them without any education beyond the eighth grade. Another 20 percent of DACA recipients have no education beyond high school and do not plan to attend college.

“The vast majority of illegal aliens shielded from deportation through the Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program are living in low-income households.

A study by Harvard scholar Roberto Gonzales outlined by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) shows that 73 percent of illegal aliens covered by DACA are living in low-income households, qualifying for free lunch at American public high schools, as well as other federal welfare benefits.

.. ..

Also, the myth from the open borders lobby and corporate interests that DACA was necessary to allow illegal aliens to legally work in the U.S. is debunked in the study, which reveals that more than half of DACA recipients, 51 percent, were already working before they obtained their temporary amnesty status.

CIS Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan said that before Congress and President Trump’s administration give amnesty to millions of eligible illegal aliens, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) should review the well-being of the DACA population. Vaughn notes:

Before considering amnesty legislation, Congress needs to obtain more information about the DACA beneficiaries in order to better understand the potential impact of an amnesty, and to help determine if the eligibility criteria for an amnesty should be different from the DACA rules. USCIS has information on the communities of residence, educational levels, marital status, mode of entry to the country, criminal histories, and English proficiency of DACA applicants. This committee should request a compilation of this information for the public to review. In addition, USCIS should conduct a survey of a random sample of DACA recipients to learn more about their employment history, educational achievements, and socio-economic progress.”

Note: Essentially we don’t know anything about the people Congress is considering granting a path to citizenship, except they came here illegally. Great. Just great. /CJ

UC Berkeley Students Protest Exam, Accuse Peers And Professor Of Supporting White Supremacy

|| Daily Caller

“UC Berkeley students attempted to shut down their midterm exam, with claims that it would have a negative impact on their physical and mental health. The students, who were captured on video, demanded a “take-home essay with significant time to prepare” and accused their uncooperative professor of not checking his privilege.

“This is a campus that is truly related throughout Latin America to the notion of free speech, said professor Harley Shaiken to the class, eliciting laughter and derision from the protesters.

Dismissive of the professor, the activists claimed that their “well-beings are being put on the line because of the emotional, mental, and physical stress that this university is compounding with what is already going on in [their] everyday lives.”

One protester shouted: “Have you ever checked ‘unlisted’ or ‘undocumented immigrant’? I don’t think so!”

Shaiken, who has written about workers’ rights in Mexico, is an expert in labor issues and earned the Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of California, San Diego in 1991. Despite his expertise in the subject, the students called him unfit to lecture them on the subject because he is white.

“Are you trying to silence us right now? Is that what you’re trying to do?” said a protester responding to a student who jokingly asked if it was a filibuster.

The professor offered to leave the classroom and hold a discussion with the protesters outside to prevent further disruption of the exam, but they refused. Instead, they took their complaints to the Department of Ethnic Studies.

“I don’t know why you’re still, like, sitting down, y’all. I don’t understand. I really don’t understand. Y’all can take your fucking test, but people are dying out there,” complained one protester, who remained behind to accuse her peers of not participating in their protest. She accused her fellow students of supporting white supremacy.”
