“A gunman opened fire during a country music festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night — shooting multiple people with a high-powered assault rifle before fleeing the scene, according to reports.

At least 24 people were shot, including two fatally, according to Reuters.

Las Vegas police responded to the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino at around 10 p.m. after receiving calls about an active shooter targeting concertgoers at the Route 91 country music fest.

About an hour later police confirmed at least one suspect is down.

“This is an active investigation,” they added.

Cops were urging people to avoid the area as SWAT teams searched for the gunman.

Witnesses reported seeing a police officer down, but authorities couldn’t immediately confirm this.

University Medical Center spokeswoman Danita Cohen said the local hospital had taken in “several” people with gunshot wounds. She didn’t offer any more details.

One Las Vegas hospital reported treating at least 20 victims with gunshot wounds, according to KABC.

Professional poker player and Instagram star Dan Bilzerian, who was at the concert, said on his IG story that he saw the shooting unfold and witnessed a girl getting shot right in front of him.

“Holy f–k this girl just got shot in the f–king head,” Bilzerian said. “So f–king crazy…So I had to go grab a gun, I’m f–king heading back…Some kind of mass shooting…Guy had a heavy caliber weapon for sure…Saw a girl f–king get shot in the face right next to me, her brains f–king hanging out.”

Another witness, who spoke to News3LV, recalled how “bullets were flying everywhere” and concertgoers were running.

“They were firing from somewhere high and they were unloading clip after clip after clip after clip,” the man said.

A female concertgoer added, “we all got on the floor, crawling out, rushing.”

Witnesses reported seeing muzzle flashes coming from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay casino — across from where the convert venue was — and the sound of automatic gunfire.

Video footage captured at the concert showed festivalgoers cowering in fear and running for their lives as gunshots continue to ring out all around them.

The gunman reportedly opened fire during country music star Jason Aldean’s set, sparking chaos in the crowd.

“The band ran off stage and it was pandemonium,” attendee Jon Bessette told NBC News. “Everyone was running, people were getting trampled.”

Authorities were forced to shut down Las Vegas Blvd and divert lights on Sunday night as they hunted for the shooter.

Cops were reportedly descending on several casinos and businesses along the strip during the search.”

At least two dead, dozens injured in mass shooting on Las Vegas Strip

‘”A shooting at a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip killed at least two people and wounded dozens late Sunday.

Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the Strip after authorities received reports of an active shooter near the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Las Vegas police later said one suspect is “down” but did not give any other details.

Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across Las Vegas Boulevard from the country music festival and the sound of what they described as automatic gun fire.

Twenty-six people were admitted to the hospital, University Medical Center spokeswoman Danita Cohen said. Of those, at least two died, 12 were in critical condition and the rest were being evaluated, she said.

Witnesses said they saw multiple victims as they fled the gunfire raining down on the concert venue. Some later huddled in the basement of the nearby Tropicana hotel-casino.

“All I heard was a lot of bang, bang, bang, and everybody hit the ground and everybody started running,” said Patrick Martin, from Southern California.

He, his wife and son were watching the concert. “You’re talking 50 to 100,000 people, everybody is running.”

He said his son had stayed behind and was helping people evacuate the festival grounds.

Some officers took cover behind their vehicles while others carrying assault rifles ran into Mandalay Bay.

Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip and Interstate 15.

Some flights destined for the McCarran International Airport were diverted due to the shooting.

Witnesses say country singer Jason Aldean was playing near the end of the concert when gunfire began.

Kodiak Yazzi, 36, said he and his girlfriend were watching Aldean’s performance when he heard what sounded like fireworks. The music stopped temporarily and started up again before another round of pops sent the performers ducking for cover and fleeing the stage.

Thousands fled as bursts of gunfire could be heard for more than five minutes, Yazzi said.

Witnesses said they saw multiple victims and dozens of ambulances near the concert venue.

“We were watching the concert having a great time, then we heard what sounded like firecrackers,” witness Joe Pitz said. “I guess it was an automatic weapon going off but it literally sounded like firecrackers.”

“Then soon enough there was commotion on the Mandalay Bay side of the stage. They were motioning for medics to come and safety people to come and Jason Aldean ran off the stage.”

“Everybody in the vicinity went down. I don’t know if they were ducking or if they were but it was chaos.”

Another witness, Monique Dumas, said, “I was thinking it was fireworks, but then you realized that’s not what it is because people are crouched and they’re screaming. We just wanted to stay together so we held hands and ran together. Then every time we would hear shooting we would duck and keep running.”
